North Face Solaris 35 Backpack Review

The North Face 35 is a panel loading bag that can serve as a sturdy day/weekend bag or even an extended trip bag for experienced travelers who like to travel ultra-light. With quality construction and materials that are typical of North Face design, you'll feel that you got your moneys' worth when using it. After a tough road trip through Death Valley in Southern California, I've come to like this pack a lot. Just a few small design changes would be needed to make it perfect. Features: - Panel loading design for easy access - Bottom zipper access into main compartment - Side mesh pockets on either side of bag - Side pockets on either side of bag with excellent compression straps - Front panel pocket - Verti-Cool system to help ease sweaty back syndrome - Subdued Charcoal/Black coloring for a lower profile - Bright red/orange interior for easier organization of items - Hydration Compatible - 35 liters of space (2150 cubic inches) - Fabric: Sabre 6, 420D ripstop nylon, Sabre 12 - weighs 3 lbs. 1 oz. (1.38 kg.) - Torso range: 17-20 inches (43-50 cm) - 22"x13"x9" (55cm x 34cm x 23cm) [small enough to be used as a carry-on on a plane] - Retails for approx. US$100 Things I would change: - The side compression straps should also secure the mesh pockets - The interior divider (which currently uses loops) does not function well, it should be replaced with a zippered divider to better separate the upper and lower compartments - The shoulder straps should be thinner - The organizer ...
